Ardnamurchan The Midgie

Ardnamurchan’s The Midgie is a rich, layered whisky crafted from a 6,200-bottle batch, bottled at 48% ABV, unchill filtered with natural color, and matured in a mix of Madeira and Sauternes barriques, a sherry butt, and bourbon barrels. The nose greets you with warm notes of brandy snaps, pancake batter, crystallized ginger, and nougat, beautifully lifted by smoked Manuka honey, sweet love hearts, satsuma peel, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and a faint whisper of an extinguished candle. On the palate, it’s refreshingly cool with fresh mint, bread and butter pudding, Edinburgh rock, and cooked peaches, rounded out by salted almonds, cookie dough, and subtle ashy undertones. The finish is sweet and smoky, lingering with a smoky bite that leaves a memorable impression.
