Odessos Riesling Venchan Single Vineyard 2022

Hailing from the Venchan village vineyard near Bulgaria's Black Sea coast, this Riesling showcases the region's unique terroir. Grown on 19-year-old vines in sandy-clay carbonate soils, the grapes benefit from a southeast exposure at 90 meters altitude.

Handpicked and gently pressed, the must undergoes cold fermentation at 11–15°C, preserving its vibrant character. Aged for three months on fine lees and an additional year in bottle, the wine presents a pale steel hue with a straw tint.

On the nose, it offers intense notes of lime, beeswax, and a hint of petroleum. The palate is tight and lean, revealing flavors of citrus peel, flint, and a touch of beeswax, all balanced by a refreshing acidity.

This light to medium-bodied Riesling pairs excellently with Asian cuisine, seafood, shellfish, and soft cheeses.
