Sklep58 - Ryzlink Rynsky

Sklep58 is the brainchild of friends Jakup and Filip, who met while studying winemaking in Brno, Moravia. Fresh out of university, they decided to abandon conventional methods involving chemicals and stabilization, opting instead for a low-intervention approach. Their wines are crafted in a small underground cellar (Sklep) at a house numbered 58.

This 100% hand-harvested Riesling is sorted, crushed, and fermented on skins in large plastic vats for 6 weeks before being pressed and aged in old 220-liter French oak barrels. Despite the unconventional approach, this orange wine is remarkably soft and well-integrated, with a gentle grip and a wealth of flavor. Expect notes of pomelo, clementine, white currants, jasmine, smoked salt, and Szechuan pepper.
