In 1947 Leith, Edinburgh, the visionary Ronald Morrison, a distinguished wine and whisky merchant, set out on a quest to craft an unprecedented liqueur. Leveraging his expertise and connections, he sourced specific malts from neighboring warehouses and blended them with exotic Mediterranean tangerines, honey, cinnamon, and rare spices. After perfecting the concoction, Morrison named it "Glayva" upon receiving a Gaelic "Glè mhath" (Very good) verdict from his warehouseman, Hector. Since then, Glayva's recipe has remained untouched, garnering an astounding 15 accolades at the International Wine and Spirit Competition.
