The Siblings range is where Leeuwin Estate shows that serious winemaking doesn't have to come with a serious price tag. Drawn from Margaret River fruit and made with the same attention to detail as the estate's flagship wines, this Shiraz delivers plenty of flavour while keeping a welcome sense of restraint.

Dark berries and blackcurrant sit at the core, supported by notes of violet, spice, cocoa, and a touch of coffee bean. What stands out is the freshness. Rather than going down the big, jammy route, this is a brighter, more European-influenced style of Australian Shiraz, with lively acidity, fine tannins, and plenty of energy.

There's enough concentration to satisfy lovers of rich reds, but the balance and drinkability are what keep you coming back for another glass. A brilliant example of modern Margaret River Shiraz, combining Australian fruit generosity with a little extra finesse.

Don’t forget your corkscrew 🍷

Leeuwin Estate

Style: Winery

Country: Australia

Region: Margaret River, Western Australia

Margaret River has a habit of producing wines that make people quietly reconsider how good Australian wine can be once they move beyond giant Shiraz and supermarket Chardonnay. Leeuwin Estate helped build that reputation in the first place.

Founded in the 1970s after a rather well-timed nudge from Robert Mondavi, Leeuwin quickly became one of the defining wineries of Margaret River, particularly for Chardonnay. Not the overworked butter-and-oak style Australia spent years unsuccessfully apologising for afterwards either. These wines balance ripeness with freshness in a way Margaret River seems uniquely good at.

The Art Series Chardonnay remains the headline act for most people. Powerful but detailed, full of citrus, stone fruit, struck match, nuts and fine oak rather than blunt-force richness. It’s one of those wines that manages to satisfy both collectors and people who just want something genuinely delicious with roast chicken. Which is harder than it sounds.

Cabernet Sauvignon also performs brilliantly here thanks to the maritime climate. Warm sunny days, cool ocean influence and long growing seasons give the wines structure without heaviness. You get cassis, cedar, mint and dark fruit, but usually with enough restraint to stop everything becoming exhausting after one glass.

Leeuwin also avoids feeling too corporate despite its international reputation. The winery itself still feels rooted in Margaret River’s slightly isolated coastal culture. Surf town energy meeting serious winemaking. Somebody probably arrived at harvest barefoot at least once.
