Cantina del Pino’s Langhe Nebbiolo is made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in vineyards traditionally planted in the hills of Barbaresco—particularly on the Ovello and Albesani sites—using organic and sustainable farming methods with absolutely no chemical fertilizers. The vines, averaging around 40 years old, are dry-farmed (no irrigation) and trained with minimal intervention to allow root depth and natural balance . The estate is entirely family-run, with meticulous vineyard care carried out by hand—pruning, canopy management, and harvest are all manual processes.
In the cellar, the wine is vinified simply: grapes are destemmed, fermented with controlled-temperature and skin contact for about seven days, followed by malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine spends around eight months in tank, a lighter approach compared to traditional Barbaresco, creating a wine meant to capture freshness, fruit, and terroir-clarit. The finished wine is unfined and unfiltered, reflecting the estate’s philosophy of minimal intervention and respect for nature .
Altogether, that means a pure, expressive Nebbiolo that’s a genuine snapshot of Barbaresco terroir—made with care from vine to bottle, yet ready to enjoy younger than its more high-octane siblings
