Charles Heidsieck Vintage, a sparkling brut produced by Charles Heidsieck in the AOC Champagne region of France, showcases a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. Established in 1851, Charles Heidsieck is the smallest yet most prestigious among the three wineries carrying the Heidsieck name. Noteworthy for its presence at significant events, such as the royal wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, Charles Heidsieck has merged with its sister winery, Piper-Heidsieck. The production now takes place in their new facilities on the southern outskirts of Reims, where they craft globally acclaimed champagnes. Charles Heidsieck Vintage is meticulously created through a selection of 10 grands and premiers Crus, resulting in a cuvée that splendidly expresses minerality, intensity, and acidity. The vines are cultivated using traditional agriculture, and the harvest is carefully timed to achieve optimum ripeness. Following the champenoise method, the wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle with a minimum aging of 10 years on its lees. True to the pure Charles style, this vintage sparkler embodies the elegance of Chardonnay and the structural richness of Pinot Noir. The wine's wonderful qualities are expected to evolve and improve over time, showcasing the potential for an exceptional aging process.
