13% / 75cl
Château Beauregard-Mirouze's Campana Rouge Corbières AOC 2022 is a biodynamically farmed red wine from the Corbières region in southern France. The name "Campana," meaning "bell" in Occitan, refers to the bell atop the main house of the estate.
Farming and Winemaking Practices:
-
Organic and Biodynamic Farming: The estate transitioned to organic viticulture over two decades, achieving biodynamic certification in 2018. They employ cover crops over winter and allow sheep to graze between the vines during summer, promoting biodiversity and soil health.
-
Vineyard Location: The vineyards are situated on decomposed sandstone soils on the northern slopes of the Massif de Fontfroide, benefiting from a Mediterranean climate.
-
Grape Varieties: The wine is a blend of 50% Syrah and 50% Grenache, both harvested manually.
-
Vinification: The grapes undergo de-stemming, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and maceration lasting between 12 to 15 days. The wine is vinified without added sulfites, is not fined, and is lightly filtered before bottling.
The Campana Rouge 2022 offers aromas of ripe fruits with subtle hints of garrigue and a touch of light toast. On the palate, it is fleshy, round, and smooth, with a pleasant freshness.
