Dom Renaudat Reuilly A.O.C Blanc 2020

The wine comes from multiple parcels of Sauvignon Blanc in the lieux-dit, Les Lignis, beyond the right bank of the Arnon, where the soils are clay-limestone over calcareous marl, full of Jurassic ammonite fossils, as in Menetou Salon and Sancerre. In the glass, this limpid, pale yellow-green wine unfurls gradually with spicy aromas of Meyer lemon, Seckel pears, green apples, and wild mint moving in and out of the foreground, sometimes alternating with aromatic suggestions of fresh fennel, cracked white pepper, and white grapefruit, as the nose evolves over time. On the palate, the wine is sapid and precise, with a delicately spicy kernel of flavors that echo the nose, all seasoned with palpable citric acidity and Maldon-like sea salt minerality, with sea air and marsh grass wafting through the long, elegant finish. Drink now for the wine’s electrifying energy and primary fruit, or tuck away in a cool cellar for three years or more.
