Domaine Josmeyer Chante Pinot

Domaine Josmeyer's Chante Pinot is a biodynamic Pétillant Naturel (Pet'Nat) from Alsace, France, crafted by sisters Céline and Isabelle Meyer. This sparkling wine is a blend of Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc, and Muscat grapes sourced from hillside vineyards with vines over 40 years old. The vineyards are cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods, certified by Biodyvin and Eurofeuille. The soil consists of colluvium deposits with a gravelly-sandy substrate, rich in clay and devoid of limestone .

The winemaking process involves manual harvesting and slow pneumatic pressing of whole grapes. Fermentation is natural and spontaneous, utilizing native yeasts without the addition of enzymes, fining agents, filtration, or sulfur.

In the glass, Chante Pinot displays a light yellow color with abundant, fine bubbles. The nose reveals floral aromas and white fruits, while the palate offers a pleasant, fine effervescence with fresh and delicate fruit flavors, culminating in a refreshing finish . It's best enjoyed at a serving temperature of 10°C and has an aging potential of 1 to 3 years.
