Domaine Lattard Syrah

The Lattard brothers selected Autichamp, a secluded area in the Drôme located 30 km southeast of Valence, to plant their vines. This wine comes from two parcels with calcareous sand, planted in 1995 and 1997 on southeast-facing slopes, yielding 40hh. The grapes are fully destemmed and undergo 15 days of maceration with daily remontage. Aged for a year in stainless steel, the wine is bottled just before harvest without any added sulfur. This Syrah is wonderfully honest, with a ripe and juicy palate that tightens up on the finish, offering fresh, beautiful bitters and marked salinity.
