Friendsips Merlot & Rubin 2021 75cl

This wine is a refined blend of Merlot and the intriguing Bulgarian Rubin, a cross between Syrah and Nebbiolo. The grapes are carefully sourced from private growers in the Thracian Valley, handpicked in small trays, and gently macerated on the skins for several days with careful temperature control during fermentation. After about a month, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation before being blended and bottled. This wine is the love project of our own Bulgarian wine importer and two of his close friends who have a deep love for heritage Bulgarian Grapes.

The result is a wine with a deep ruby color and crimson highlights. The nose is fruity, with notes of black cherry and plum. The medium-bodied palate is fresh and smooth, offering flavors of forest fruits, herbs, and a touch of spice on the long finish. It pairs well with barbecue dishes, lamb, pork, sausages, tomato-based pasta, vegetarian dishes, or soft cheeses.
