Holyrood Height of Arrows
Holyrood Height of Arrows
Inspired by our surroundings, the distillery’s imposing backdrop of Arthur’s Seat provides the inspiration for the gin – ‘Height Of Arrows’ being the literal translation of ‘Àrd-Na-Said’, the Gaelic name for the extinct volcano. Standing at 251m, the Height of Arthur’s Seat was said to be the furthest distance an archer could fire an arrow – literally, aiming higher and breaking boundaries. The nose offers a balanced presentation of clean, fresh pine and resin, coupled with light citrus zest. On the palate, it begins with an oily, mouth-coating sensation, showcasing juicy and rich orange zest and lemon pith. This is followed by a bold emergence of black pepper and cardamom, which is tempered with a smooth, herbaceous undertone. The finish is long, smooth, and clean, leaving a lingering effervescent spice that delights the senses.
