Mills Brewing Old Heavy

Mills Brewing make beer with minimal modern intervention, relying on local wild yeast cultures an the influence of nature to ferment.

Old Heavy is a blend of strong red and brown beers produced in May and August 2022.

Both worts were made using roasted and crystal malts, before boiling with large quantities of aged hops.

The red beer fermented in an old red Burgundy barrel. The brown beer fermented in an old Islay whisky barrel.

The finished blend matured in bottle for ten months before release.
