Oriol Artigas SOS # 8 Frisach & Tuets Garnatxa, Parellada (Rosé)

The Oriol Artigas SOS #8 Frisach & Tuets Rosé is a natural wine from the Penedès region in Catalonia, Spain. Crafted by winemaker Oriol Artigas, this rosé is a blend of 85% Parellada and 15% Garnacha Tinta grapes. The grapes are sourced from the Vall de Canelles vineyard, situated on loess and white limestone sand soils with a southeast orientation. The wine undergoes 11 days of skin contact with whole bunches of Garnacha and 3 days of skin contact with Parellada, followed by fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. This method imparts a vibrant character to the wine, which is noted for its expressive aromas and flavors. 

The SOS series was initiated by Artigas in response to a challenging vintage in Alella, where most crops were lost to mildew. Collaborating with local vignerons, Artigas produced these cuvées to support the community and showcase the resilience of the region's viticulture.
