Zavec Brothers Kugl Red 2020 is a wild-fermented blend of Blaufränkisch and Pinot Noir from Slovenia’s Štajerska region. This ruby-red wine bursts with juicy freshness, delicate cherry aromas, and floral notes, complemented by forest fruit and blueberry on the nose. Round tannins and a full-bodied structure lead to a long, mineral-driven finish with a touch of saltiness. Crafted sustainably by third-generation winemakers Aleksander and Patrik Zavec, the wine reflects the unique terroir of Haloze, where vineyards are nurtured without herbicides or insecticides, supporting biodiversity with bee-friendly plantings and bird habitats. Fermented spontaneously with native yeasts, this low-intervention wine offers a pure and expressive taste of its origin, pairing beautifully with charcuterie and hard cheeses.
