Cruzcampo is basically liquid Andalusian sunshine. Brewed in Seville since 1904, the beer has become one of Spain’s most recognisable lagers and remains deeply tied to the relaxed, warm-weather drinking culture of southern Spain. Which mostly involves cold beer, tapas and pretending tomorrow’s responsibilities do not currently exist.
The brewery was founded by the Osborne family in Seville using water from the Guadalquivir River, inspired by the brewing traditions of Pilsen lager but filtered through a very Spanish lens. The result is a crisp, light-bodied lager with gentle malt sweetness, soft bitterness and just enough fruity hop character to stay refreshing in serious heat.
What makes Cruzcampo especially charming is how unapologetically social it feels. This is not beer designed for aggressive untappd reviews or beard-stroking tasting seminars. It’s built for crowded terraces, grilled seafood, football, late nights and accidentally ordering “one more” several times in a row.
The style stays very straightforward: crisp, balanced and easy-drinking. Which honestly is exactly what you want when temperatures start climbing and lunch quietly turns into dinner without anybody noticing.
