About the Brewery.

Chicago has always had a strong brewing tradition, but Revolution became one of the breweries that helped define its modern craft identity.

Founded in 2010, the brewery quickly grew from neighbourhood brewpub beginnings into one of the largest independent breweries in the Midwest. The range covers everything from approachable pale ales to heavily barrel-aged imperial stouts, although the common thread is usually balance and technical consistency.

Anti-Hero remains one of their most recognisable beers. A firmly bitter American IPA packed with citrus, pine and resinous hop character that arrived before many breweries decided bitterness should disappear entirely. It still holds up remarkably well.

The barrel programme deserves particular attention. Revolution’s Deep Wood series has become one of the most respected collections of barrel-aged stouts and strong ales in the United States, combining bourbon barrel character with rich chocolate, coffee and dark fruit notes without becoming overly sweet.

There is a confidence to the brewery that comes from understanding both classic American brewing and modern craft trends. The beers feel substantial without constantly demanding attention.
