About the Brewery.

Prague takes beer seriously enough that even casual pub visits can start feeling like cultural education. Staropramen has been part of that story since the nineteenth century.

Founded in the Smíchov district of Prague in 1869, the brewery grew into one of the largest producers in the country and remains closely associated with the city itself. The name translates roughly as “old spring”, referring to the water source that helped shape the brewery’s identity.

The beer follows the Czech lager tradition. Soft malt, gentle bitterness and remarkable drinkability remain the priorities. While modern beer culture often becomes distracted by extremes, Czech brewing has always understood the value of balance.

Staropramen Premium Lager carries crisp grain character, floral hops and the clean finish that makes Czech lager so difficult to improve upon. The style is subtle enough that mistakes become obvious immediately, which is partly why good examples deserve respect.
