Bruno Ciofi initiated the "Béret et Compagnie" project to support small producers in the Loire Valley who cultivate their vines naturally but lack the resources to bottle or market their wines. The initiative focuses on selecting grapes exclusively from biodynamic or organic vineyards and assists in transitioning conventional vineyards to natural farming practices.
The vinification process involves hand-harvesting 100% Chenin Blanc grapes from 45-year-old vines. After a gentle pressing, fermentation occurs spontaneously. The wine matures on its lees in stainless steel tanks for a short period before bottling.
Bruno began his winemaking career with Jean-Pierre Frick, a pioneer of biodynamic farming in Alsace, where he worked for thirteen years. In 2008, he moved to the Jura region to join Domaine de la Pinte. Later, in 2016, Bruno partnered with Mark Angéli at La Ferme de la Sansonnière in Anjou, furthering his commitment to natural winemaking.
Through "Béret et Compagnie," Bruno collaborates with small-scale producers, ensuring that naturally cultivated grapes are transformed into authentic wines that might otherwise remain undiscovered.
