Jean Velut Lumière et Craie (Sip Edition) is an exclusive, zero-dosage (0 g/L) Blanc de Blancs Champagne from Montgueux made entirely of reserve Chardonnay. Bottled in April 2016 and disgorged in November 2022 after 6½ years on lees, it combines luxurious oxidative richness with vibrant freshness.

Aromas of warm brioche, honey, and salted‑caramel are lifted by an exciting chalky minerality and fresh citrus zest. On the palate it delivers a buttery, layered texture reminiscent of Charles Heidsieck reserves, yet remains lively and pure from its long lees ageing.

Inspired by its sheltering chalk hillside terroir, Montgueux is one of the few growers in this Côte des Bar village. Jean Velut farms 7.7 ha of sustainable Chardonnay, producing elegant, expressive champagnes that strike a fine balance between oxidative complexity and natural charm.
