Luis Seabra Xisto Ilimitado Douro Branco

Luis Seabra's Xisto Ilimitado Branco is a white wine that showcases the unique terroir of the Douro Valley in Portugal. The 2021 vintage is a blend of 60% Rabigato, 15% Gouveio, 15% Códega, and 10% Viosinho, sourced from 30–45-year-old vines planted on mica schist soils at elevations of 500–600 meters.

The wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, with 90% fermented in used barrels and 10% in stainless steel. It is aged for 12 months on its lees without bâtonnage, resulting in a wine that is fresh, mineral-driven, and expressive of its schist-driven terroir.

Tasting notes for the 2021 vintage highlight aromas of sliced green apples, orchard fruit, fennel, and a touch of flint. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, fresh, with texture and pleasant phenolics, offering a long and persistent finish. James Suckling awarded this vintage 93 points, noting its incredible value.

This wine pairs beautifully with roast poultry, white fish, seafood, and especially spicier preparations, making it a versatile choice for various dishes.
