This wine exhibits a medium ruby-red color with purple hints. Its aromatic profile is characterized by notes of black cherries, plums, and red berries. On the palate, it offers a velvety texture with intense fruit flavors, particularly plums and red berries.
The grapes for this wine were hand-harvested in September, followed by crushing and destemming. Fermentation occurred in stainless-steel tanks at temperatures of 22-25°C with six to eight days of skin contact. Post-fermentation maceration was carefully conducted to extract soft tannins. The wine then underwent aging for three to five months in stainless-steel tanks before bottling.
Mandrarossa, situated in Menfi in the south-west of Sicily, thrives in a wild and unspoiled region with exceptional natural beauty. The winery capitalizes on the diverse terroirs of the area, ranging from clay to limestone to sandy soils, fostering the cultivation of various grape varieties. The result is a collection of authentic, terroir-driven wines with robust character, reflecting the unique nature of this pristine territory.
