Thompson Bros Royal Brackla Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 2014, 10 Years Old

This is an independent bottling of Royal Brackla single malt from the historic Highland distillery, distilled in 2014 and matured for 10 years in a re-charred hogshead cask, then bottled by Thompson Bros at a robust cask-strength around 55 % ABV with no added colour or chill filtration.

The character shows Royal Brackla’s elegant malt profile lifted and amplified by the cask influence — initially expressive with rich malt, toffee, honeycomb and ginger biscuit notes, balanced by fresh orchard fruit (apple/pear) and gentle citrus zest that keeps it bright. On the palate the texture is full and oily with sweet malt and fruity undertones, a warming spiciness and oak-driven layers of vanilla and gentle tannin, finishing long with a touch of spice and sweet-fruit persistence.
