Tegernseer Spezial

A step up in intensity from standard Helles, this is Tegernsee’s “Spezial” export-strength lager, sitting stylistically between a classic Munich Helles and a Dortmunder Export. It’s brewed at the same historic brewery by Lake Tegernsee in Bavaria, but with a slightly higher gravity and more malt presence.

In the glass it pours a bright deep gold, a touch richer than Tegernseer Hell, with a firmer, more structured look.

The aroma is classic Bavarian lager but dialled up slightly:
fresh bread crust, biscuit malt, light honey and soft floral/herbal hops.
