Weekend Project

Style: Brewery

Country: England

Region: Cheshire, Knutsford

Weekend Project feels exactly like the sort of brewery name that could have started as a casual idea over a few pints before accidentally becoming a real business. Thankfully the beer turned out to be considerably more organised than that.

Based in Knutsford, Cheshire, the brewery was founded by a team with decades of combined experience immersed in beer culture, drawing inspiration from classic styles, international brewing scenes and the simple idea that good beer should remain enjoyable first and foremost.

The range moves comfortably between modern hop-forward styles, lagers, stouts and seasonal releases. There is a noticeable respect for traditional brewing underneath the contemporary approach. Rather than chasing every trend at full speed, the brewery tends to focus on brewing well-balanced versions of styles people actually want to drink more than once. Citrus, tropical fruit, clean malt character and plenty of freshness appear regularly across the lineup.

What makes Weekend Project interesting is that it feels driven by enthusiasm rather than marketing language. The beers reflect years of drinking, travelling and paying attention to brewing culture without becoming self-important about it.

Not every brewery needs a grand manifesto. Sometimes making very good beer and encouraging people to enjoy their weekends is a fairly solid plan already.
