Flügel exists in that strange and glorious corner of the drinks world where nobody’s entirely sure whether it counts as a shot, a party trick or a collective bad decision. Originally from Netherlands, the bright red spirit drink became hugely popular across bars and clubs thanks to its tiny bottles, sweet flavour and the slightly theatrical way people insist on drinking it.

Tap the bottle on the bar.

Uncap it and place the yellow cap on the tip of your nose.

Bring the bottle to your mouth without using your hands, knock it back, and "let the duck out!"
