Wine, Whisky & Craft Beer Tastings in Edinburgh

We love hosting regular wine, whisky and craft beer tasting events in and around Edinburgh. Through The Beerhive we work with independent producers, importers, winemakers and distillers from all over the world, and our events are a chance to hear their stories, taste their products and ask all the questions we don't always have time for in the shop.

Most of our tastings include a guided tasting, plenty of time for questions and food pairings from our friends at 71 Steps, or our yearly event with Heron.

No tasting notes exams, no snobbery and no pressure to know your Burgundy villages. Just good drinks, good food and good company.

If you're visiting Edinburgh and looking for our recommendations for things to do outside of these events check out our guide: Good Beer & What's Near

Canonmills, Edinburgh

Our most common tasting venue is at our neighbouring café 71 Steps in Canonmills, Edinburgh. Rowan and the team there help us set the mood and cater each event with dishes that compliment what we're showing - one of our all time stand-out pairings was the Kilchoman whisky cream donuts!

Drinks We Love

Some styles crop up more often than others in our tasting programme, and Champagne is definitely one of them. With the help of our friend Peter Crawford, an expert in all things traditional method, we love getting deeper into the world of Champagne and sharing new producers with our locals and visitors.

Food Pairings

We are huge advocates of great pairings, as you can see from our guide, and like most people on our side of the kitchen we tend to do pairings backwards! We choose the wines, whiskies or beers first and work backwards to get the food that pairs best to heighten both the food and drinks.

Previous Collaborators

Over the years we've hosted tastings with independent breweries, wineries, distilleries, importers and restaurants from across the UK and Europe.

Previous events have included collaborations with Ardnamurchan, Lochlea, Dynamic Vines, Sip Champagnes, Blind Summit, Vins-Clairs, Heron and many more.
