Collection: Events in Edinburgh

Good bottles are even better when they're shared. Our tasting events bring together the producers, importers and bottles we're most excited about, giving you the chance to taste, ask questions and discover something new in a relaxed setting.

Explore More of Our Collection

Our Edinburgh events bring together wine tastings, brewery showcases, whisky evenings and producer-led dinners centred around thoughtful drinks, good food and relaxed conversation. Regular tastings explore everything from grower Champagne, natural wine and Eastern European producers to Scottish whisky, Belgian beer, lambic and seasonal beer styles, often paired with food and hosted alongside visiting winemakers, brewers and importers.

Events take place across both The Beerhive and partner venues around the city, with a focus on approachable and informal experiences rather than formal tasting-room atmosphere. Whether hosted in the shop, cafés, bars or restaurants around Edinburgh, the emphasis remains on flavour, storytelling and discovering producers in a relaxed setting.

Many events are built around specific regions, grape varieties, breweries or fermentation styles, while others focus on broader themes such as low-intervention wine, mixed fermentation beer, food pairing or independent whisky bottling. Tastings often include rare bottles, seasonal releases and producer insights that are difficult to experience outside specialist importers and independent retailers.

Whether you're completely new to wine and beer tastings or already deeply interested in natural wine, lambic, whisky and modern brewing culture, these evenings are designed to be welcoming, educational and genuinely enjoyable to drink through. The aim is always to create events that feel social, accessible and rooted in the wider independent food and drinks culture of Edinburgh.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What tasting events do you run in Edinburgh?

We host a range of relaxed tasting events throughout the year, including wine, whisky and craft beer tastings. Many feature guest winemakers, brewers, distillers or importers, giving you the chance to hear their stories while tasting some fantastic bottles.

Do I need to know anything about wine, beer or whisky before coming?

Not at all. Our events are designed for everyone, whether you're completely new to the subject or already have a well-stocked cellar at home. There are no exams, no snobbery and no pressure, just good drinks, good food and plenty of conversation.

Where do your tasting events take place?

Most of our events take place in Canonmills, either in our shop or with nearby partners such as 71 Steps. We also collaborate with some of Edinburgh's best restaurants and venues for special dinners, producer events and one-off tastings.

Do your events include food?

Many do. We love showing how food and drink work together, so a number of our tastings include carefully matched dishes created by local chefs and restaurants. If food is included, it'll always be clearly stated on the event page.

How quickly do tickets sell out?

Some events sell out very quickly, particularly smaller tastings and evenings with visiting producers. If there's something you'd like to attend, we'd always recommend booking early to avoid missing out.

Can I buy tickets as a gift?

Absolutely. Our tasting events make brilliant gifts for anyone interested in beer, wine or whisky, whether they're just starting out or already know exactly what they like. Simply purchase a ticket online and we'll see them on the night.
