About the Brewery.

Germany produces countless famous lagers, but few breweries have managed to remain family-owned for quite as long as Warsteiner.

Founded in 1753, the brewery grew from a small local operation into one of Germany’s largest privately owned brewing companies while remaining under the ownership of the Cramer family.

The flagship beer, Warsteiner Premium Verum, sits firmly within the classic German pilsner tradition. Crisp malt, floral hops, clean bitterness and remarkable drinkability remain the focus. The brewery draws water from its own Kaiserquelle spring, something it continues to highlight as a key part of the beer’s identity.

What makes Warsteiner successful is consistency. The beers are not designed around novelty or constant reinvention. They are built around technical precision and the sort of balance German brewing has spent centuries refining.

The brewery remains a major name within German beer, even as the industry continues adapting to changing drinking habits and a shrinking domestic market.

Sometimes a well-made pilsner remains one of the hardest things in brewing to improve upon.
