A bright, easy-drinking red from the hills of the Minervois in Languedoc. Domaine La Rouviole farms organically on clay-limestone soils at around 200–250m altitude, surrounded by aromatic garrigue that subtly shapes the character of the wines.

Made from 100% Cinsault, this cuvée is fermented in stainless steel and aged briefly on lees to preserve freshness and delicacy.

Light, juicy and refreshing, it shows lively notes of redcurrant, pomegranate and soft red berries, with gentle spice and a bright, lifted finish. The palate is supple and vibrant, with minimal tannin and plenty of drinkability.

Domaine La Rouviole

Style: Winery

Country: France

Region: Minervois, Languedoc

Domaine La Rouviole comes from Minervois in the Languedoc, a region that quietly produces some of France’s best-value reds while Bordeaux and Burgundy continue charging mortgage deposit money for single bottles. Family-run and deeply rooted in the rugged Mediterranean landscape, La Rouviole focuses on traditional southern French varieties like Syrah, Grenache and Carignan, producing wines packed with warmth, spice and proper rustic charm.

The wines lean into everything people love about the south of France. Dark berries, black olive, dried herbs, liquorice and pepper all show up alongside soft tannins and generous fruit. There’s richness and ripeness, but thankfully without tipping into overcooked jam territory. The better wines keep a lovely savoury edge and freshness underneath all the sunshine.

What makes Domaine La Rouviole especially enjoyable is how unapologetically southern the wines feel. These are bottles built for long lunches, grilled meat, strong cheese and arguments that continue well after dessert. Nothing feels over-polished or corporate. The wines still carry that earthy, slightly wild Mediterranean character that makes the region so appealing when it’s done properly.

There’s also excellent value running through the range. Languedoc producers like La Rouviole often deliver complexity and personality far beyond what the price suggests, which makes discovering estates like this feel slightly like cheating compared to shopping in more famous French regions.
