Domaine des Trottières Clair de Lune Chenin Blanc is a fresh and vibrant expression of Chenin Blanc from the Loire Valley. This wine opens with aromas of honey and ripe apricot, followed by enticing notes of orchard fruits. The palate reveals a harmonious balance of mineral freshness, a fine creamy texture, and crisp acidity that enhances its elegance and complexity.

For over a century, Domaine des Trottières has been cultivating exceptional terroir in the historic town of Thouarcé, nestled between the Coteaux du Layon and the fertile lands of Anjou. Since 1985, the Lamotte family has passionately managed the estate, consistently earning recognition and awards for their commitment to quality. Domaine Trottières

Style: Winery

Country: France

Region: Loire Valley, Anjou

Domaine des Trottières is one of the Loire Valley’s quietly dependable estates, producing elegant wines from the Anjou and Loire region with a strong focus on freshness, balance and easy drinkability. Family-owned for generations, the estate works across both white and red varieties, though Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc tend to steal most of the attention.

The Chenin Blanc wines are particularly lovely, balancing orchard fruit, citrus and honeyed notes with bright acidity and chalky minerality. They manage to feel rich and textured while still staying refreshing, which is one of Loire Chenin’s greatest tricks when handled properly. The reds bring soft dark fruit, herbs and gentle spice with plenty of freshness underneath.

What makes Domaine des Trottières especially charming is the versatility of the wines. They work brilliantly with food, age surprisingly well and still remain approachable enough for casual drinking. Nothing feels forced or overcomplicated. Just thoughtful Loire wine made with restraint and a proper understanding of balance.

The estate also captures that wonderfully understated Loire personality where the wines quietly impress people without needing dramatic pricing or endless hype. Which honestly makes discovering producers like this feel all the more satisfying.
