This fresh and approachable red wine offers abundant red berry aromas and a plush palate. Well-balanced and wonderfully fresh, it pairs excellently with a variety of Mediterranean dishes.

Settimo Pizzolato, the fifth-generation grower at the estate, is known for his charisma and innovative wisdom. Over the past two decades, he has transitioned from initial steps in organic viticulture and bottling his own wine to establishing a large winery with a dedicated team that exports globally. His wife, Sabrina, and children, Federico and Stefania, are actively involved in the business, while their youngest, Eduardo, is learning English.

The Pizzolato estate's vineyards are situated on pebbly riverbanks, benefiting from soils that allow good drainage. Settimo also collaborates with neighboring contracted growers, all of whom farm organically and adhere to his exacting standards.

The labels are intentionally bold and awakening, reflecting a mindset focused on continuous improvement in winemaking, sustainability, and future preparedness.

The estate practices organic farming and produces vegan-friendly wines.

La Cantina Pizzolato

Style: Winery

Country: Italy

Region: Veneto

La Cantina Pizzolato have been making organic wine in Veneto long before organic wine became trendy enough to charge an extra fiver for. The family have worked the land around Treviso for generations, and by the early 1990s they’d already committed fully to certified organic farming while much of the wine world was still pretending pesticides were a personality trait.

The range covers loads of approachable Italian styles, especially Prosecco, Pinot Grigio and easy-drinking reds, all leaning fresh, clean and massively food-friendly. The sparkling wines especially have become hugely popular because they manage to stay crisp and lively without tasting aggressively industrial the way cheaper Prosecco sometimes can.

There’s a very obvious sustainability focus running through the whole winery too. Organic vineyards, lighter packaging, vegan wines, biodiversity projects, all the good stuff, but thankfully without becoming preachy about it. The wines still feel built for normal human enjoyment rather than eco lectures.

The whole thing lands nicely in that sweet spot between modern organic winemaking and classic Italian drinkability. Relaxed wines for dinners, parties and situations involving too much antipasti.
