Raventós i Blanc “De Nit” Rosé is an elegant, terroir-driven sparkling wine from Catalonia’s Conca del Riu Anoia. Pale salmon in the glass, it seamlessly blends traditional Macabeo, Xarel·lo, and Parellada with a whisper of Monastrell for color and complexity.

Fragrances of pink grapefruit, red berries, white flowers, and a hint of fennel greet the nose, while delicate brioche and citrus zest emerge, thanks to around 18 months’ lees ageing. The palate is crisp and finely textured—bright acidity and persistent mousse support juicy strawberry and citrus flavors, finishing with a precise salinity and mineral freshness.

Raventós i Blanc

Style: Winery

Country: Spain

Region: Penedès, Catalonia

Long before sparkling wine became obsessed with branding, luxury packaging and finding increasingly creative ways to justify pricing, Raventós i Blanc were focused on vineyards. That remains central to everything they do.

Based in the Penedès region of Catalonia, the family’s history with sparkling wine stretches back generations. In fact, the Raventós family were producing what eventually became Cava long before the category officially existed. More recently, they stepped away from the Cava DO entirely, choosing instead to focus on estate-grown fruit and stricter vineyard standards.

The wines are built around traditional local varieties including Xarel·lo, Macabeu and Parellada. Xarel·lo in particular gives the wines much of their character, bringing freshness, texture and a slightly herbal Mediterranean edge that feels very different from Champagne.

What makes Raventós i Blanc stand out is precision. The wines carry citrus, orchard fruit, chalky minerality and fine mousse without relying on overt richness or dosage. They feel detailed and energetic rather than flashy.

There is a strong sense of place running through the range. These are sparkling wines that taste distinctly Catalan rather than trying to imitate Champagne, which is ultimately far more interesting.
