More About Borders Distillery 2018 First Release 8 Year Old

The first release from The Borders Distillery, this eight-year-old single malt is made using barley sourced from ten local farms. Matured predominantly in first-fill bourbon casks before a finishing period in Madeira wood, it marks an important milestone for the Hawick distillery, which opened in 2018 as the first new distillery in the Scottish Borders since 1837.

Tasting Notes

Smooth and inviting, with vanilla, runny honey and soft caramel leading the way. The Madeira cask finish brings extra richness, adding notes of sweet sultanas and buttery macadamia nuts.
