More About Champagne Agrapart Avize Atoma

Crafted by the grower‐house Champagne Agrapart et Fils in the Grand Cru village of Avize in the Côte des Blancs, this 100 % Chardonnay cuvée blends fruit from Avize, Cramant, Oger, Oiry and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.

Roughly half of the blend comes from a “réserve perpétuelle” started in 2020 and aged in large foudres, while the remainder is drawn from the current year’s harvest and tanks; full malolactic fermentation, no filtration or fining, and dosage under 5 g/l.

On the palate it offers bright citrus and green apple aromas, with pear and chalky minerality unfolding into a creamy texture and a saline, persistent finish that reflects the chalky soils of the Côte des Blancs

Meet the Producer, Champagne Agrapart

Champagne Agrapart

Style: Winery

Champagne Agrapart is one of those grower Champagne houses that serious wine people start talking about in slightly hushed tones once they’ve had a couple of glasses. Tiny production, obsessive vineyard work and wines with ridiculous precision, this is very much the world of terroir-driven Champagne rather than giant luxury branding and nightclub bottle service.

Based in Avize in the Côte des Blancs, the Agrapart family has been growing grapes here since the 1800s, focusing almost entirely on Chardonnay from some of Champagne’s greatest villages. The Côte des Blancs is basically sacred ground for Blanc de Blancs lovers, producing wines with this incredible combination of chalky minerality, citrus freshness and quietly terrifying ageing potential.

What makes Agrapart especially brilliant is the balance between richness and tension. The wines are deeply complex and textural, often fermented and aged in older oak, but they never lose that laser-like freshness running underneath. Everything feels incredibly precise without becoming cold or clinical.

The flagship Terroirs bottling is often where people fall into the Agrapart rabbit hole properly. Salty citrus, white flowers, brioche and pure chalky energy all somehow held together in one glass. Then you move onto the single-vineyard wines and suddenly find yourself voluntarily discussing soil composition during dinner.

There’s also something wonderfully uncompromising about the whole house. Low intervention, old vines, careful farming and patient ageing all take priority over mass production. These are wines built for people who genuinely love Champagne rather than just liking the idea of Champagne.

Basically, Champagne with actual soul and enough mineral tension to make geology seem weirdly exciting.
