More About Danbury Ridge Solstice Edition No 2 Brut NV

Solstice is Danbury Ridge's more ambitious take on English sparkling wine, made as a multi-vintage blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier with part of the wine passing through a perpetual reserve. The base wines are fermented in oak before spending time on their lees, giving the finished wine considerably more texture and depth than your typical English fizz.

It's richer and more savoury than the bright, linear style you might expect from English sparkling wine, with ripe orchard fruit, apricot and citrus alongside toasted brioche, almond and a subtle oxidative character. There's plenty of acidity underneath the richness, finishing dry, long and beautifully textured. It's a sparkling wine that really comes into its own with food.
