More About Domaine Guillaman Gros Manseng

A fresh, aromatic 100% Gros Manseng from the Côtes de Gascogne, made in a deliberately lively, slightly off-dry style. The grapes are picked at night and given skin contact before a cool fermentation, then the wine spends a short period on its fine lees. The clay-limestone soils and warm days with cool nights help keep the fruit particularly vibrant.

Gascony does not get enough credit for how much genuinely joyful wine it produces. Domaine Guillaman is a perfect example. Fresh whites, juicy reds and enough easy-drinking energy to make you immediately understand why southwest France is so good at long lunches.

The family estate sits in the Côtes de Gascogne, working with varieties like Colombard, Gros Manseng, Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot to produce wines that are bright, aromatic and very much designed for actual drinking rather than collecting dust in a cellar somewhere.

The whites are especially good fun. Citrus, passionfruit, peach and floral notes all fly out the glass, usually backed by crisp acidity and low enough alcohol that finishing the bottle starts feeling dangerously reasonable. Perfect fridge wine in the best possible sense.

The reds and rosés keep that same approachable feel. Soft fruit, gentle spice and loads of freshness without any unnecessary heaviness or oak influence getting in the way.

What’s nice about Domaine Guillaman is that nothing feels pretentious. These wines know exactly what they are. Bright, affordable, food-friendly southern French bottles built for good company and empty glasses.
