Brewed in Thuringia since 1543, Köstritzer is the benchmark for Schwarzbier. Despite its jet-black colour, it's remarkably light on its feet, combining smooth roasted malt with the clean, crisp finish you'd expect from a German lager. Rich enough to satisfy lovers of dark beer, but refreshing enough to enjoy by the pint, it's easy to see why it's become Germany's best-known black lager.
