More About Moinette Dupont Bons Voeux Magnum

Brasserie Dupont’s Bons Vœux is one of Belgium’s great strong blond ales, originally brewed as a special New Year’s beer for the brewery’s most loyal customers. At 9.5% ABV, this 1.5L Magnum is bottle-conditioned and packed with the character that has made Bons Vœux such a sought-after Dupont classic.

Bright and intensely aromatic, it combines ripe yellow fruit and citrus with spicy Belgian yeast character, bringing notes of ripe banana, orange, lemon and clove. Underneath, a rich malt backbone adds hints of toasted hazelnut, while dry hopping contributes another layer of fresh, complex hop aroma. Despite the strength, it remains remarkably dry, bitter and refreshing, with fine carbonation and a long, spicy finish.

A proper celebration beer, and the Magnum format makes it particularly well suited to sharing.

The brewery’s legendary Saison Dupont remains the benchmark for the style and the beer that countless brewers around the world have tried to imitate ever since. Dry, peppery, citrusy and beautifully effervescent, it somehow manages to feel rustic and refined at exactly the same time. There’s plenty going on in the glass, including spice, soft fruit, earthy yeast character and gentle bitterness, but everything stays incredibly balanced. No gimmicks, no novelty ingredients, just exceptional brewing doing all the heavy lifting.

Dupont’s brewing roots stretch back to an old working farm, and that agricultural history still shapes the character of the beers today. Fermentation is slow, bottle conditioning is taken seriously and the brewery’s approach leans heavily toward patience rather than trend chasing. Alongside saisons, Dupont also produces excellent organic beers, classic Belgian ales and traditional bière de garde styles that all carry the same unmistakable sense of craftsmanship.

Part of what makes Dupont so beloved among beer drinkers is how naturally the beers fit into everyday drinking.
