More About Monteforche Cassiara
Alfonso Soranzo makes wine from vineyards surrounding his home and cantina in the tiny hamlet of Zovon di Vo in the hills of Colli Euganei. The soils are volcanic and fossilized, perfect for growing grapes. His approach is old-school and unfussy, relying on natural yeast fermentation and no additions, resulting in honest, nourishing, and delicious wines.
This wine is a blend of 80% Moscato and 20% Garganega, farmed organically. The grapes are hand-harvested and de-stemmed, undergoing an overnight maceration before being pressed and rested on lees in concrete vats for a year. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with low sulphur, it is hazy in appearance, fresh and floral, open and inviting. An easygoing, delicious wine.
