Introducing Vicoletto, the latest venture from Rallo Azienda Agricola. Our Catarratto grapes thrive in the sandy soils of Alcamo's hills, benefiting from the region's gentle ripening conditions. Under Andrea Vesco's sustainable organic farming, our vines bask in over 300 years of local winemaking heritage. Handpicked at dawn, our grapes undergo a meticulous process, where 90% are gently pressed and fermented in tanks while the remaining 10% macerate with skins for 12 days. Both ferment naturally with wild yeasts, resulting in a vibrant, slightly cloudy 'Orange' wine. Bottled without stabilization, filtration, fining, or added sulfur, this wine boasts low sulphur levels and a captivating bouquet of citrus, grapefruit, apple, and white flesh fruits. Delight in its Mediterranean herb nuances and refreshing acidity, a testament to our dedication to natural winemaking excellence.

Rallo Azienda Agricola

Style: Winery

Country: Italy

Region: Sicily

Western Sicily produces wines with a very different energy to the heavier stereotypes people sometimes associate with southern Italy. Coastal influence, native grape varieties and increasingly thoughtful winemaking have transformed the region over recent decades. Rallo sits comfortably within that movement.

The family estate works around Marsala and Alcamo, focusing heavily on indigenous Sicilian varieties including Grillo, Catarratto, Nero d’Avola and Zibibbo. Rather than masking those grapes behind excessive oak or international styling, the wines generally allow their regional character to remain clearly visible.

The whites are often particularly strong. Grillo brings citrus, stone fruit and saline freshness, while Catarratto carries floral notes and texture that make it far more interesting than its historical reputation once suggested. The coastal influence helps preserve brightness even under intense Sicilian sunshine.

The reds lean towards dark fruit, herbs and Mediterranean spice without becoming overly heavy. Nero d’Avola in particular shows plenty of generosity while still keeping structure and freshness intact.

Sicily has become one of Europe’s most exciting wine regions because producers increasingly trust local grapes and local conditions. Rallo feels very much part of that story.
