More About Sébastien Brunet Vouvray Brut NV
Sébastien Brunet Vouvray Brut is a traditional-method sparkling wine from the Loire Valley, made from 100% Chenin Blanc grown on clay and flint soils around the appellation of Vouvray in France. Produced by Domaine Sébastien Brunet, this cuvée reflects a new generation of Loire winemaking focused on precision, freshness and minimal intervention farming.
The wine is crafted using the méthode traditionnelle (the same process used in Champagne), where the second fermentation takes place in bottle, followed by ageing on the lees to build texture and complexity. This results in fine, persistent bubbles and a layered aromatic profile that combines fruit purity with subtle bakery notes.
On the nose, expect aromas of green apple, lemon zest, white pear and floral notes, evolving into brioche, biscuit and light honeyed tones with time in glass. The palate is crisp and energetic, driven by Chenin Blanc’s natural acidity, with flavours of orchard fruit, citrus peel and a subtle creamy mousse leading into a dry, savoury finish.
Unlike many commercial sparkling wines, Vouvray Brut leans into freshness and mineral definition rather than overt richness, making it both highly refreshing and food-friendly. It is a classic expression of Loire Chenin Blanc in sparkling form, precise, vibrant and quietly complex.
Best served well chilled, it works beautifully as an aperitif or alongside seafood, sushi, roast chicken, salty snacks and light pastries.
