A classic, no-nonsense Barbera from Piemonte, made in a fresh, fruit-forward style that leans into the grape’s natural vibrancy. Fermented in stainless steel with a short maceration, it’s designed for early drinking and everyday appeal.

Bright and juicy, it shows cherry, plum and red berry fruit with hints of spice and a light floral lift. The palate is smooth and medium-bodied, with lively acidity, soft tannins and a rounded, easy finish, a hallmark of Barbera’s naturally food-friendly style.

Vistamonte

Style: Winery

Country: Italy

Region: Piemonte

Piedmont has a habit of producing wines that feel effortlessly suited to food, and Barbera remains one of the clearest examples. Vistamonte leans comfortably into that tradition.

Produced in Piemonte, the range focuses on approachable expressions of regional varieties, particularly Barbera. The grape tends to get overshadowed by Nebbiolo in conversations about Piedmont, which is slightly unfair considering how enjoyable it can be to actually drink.

The Barbera shows bright cherry, plum and red berry fruit with a little spice and floral lift. Acidity remains one of the grape’s defining features, helping keep the wines lively and remarkably versatile at the table.

There is a straightforward honesty to wines like this. They are not trying to become collectible cellar trophies. They are built for pasta, cured meats, conversation and situations where the bottle somehow empties faster than expected.

Piedmont produces some of Italy’s most serious wines. It also produces wines like Vistamonte, which are often just as useful to have around.
