More About Whiplash No Dose AF Pils

A tribute to our best selling beer Blue Ghosts.  This beer is designed to have all the great things Blue Ghosts has without the booze.

A crisp, refreshing pilsner brewed to perfection. Bright citrus and herbal notes shine through a clean, balanced lager that's effortlessly drinkable. A true classic for any occasion.

Meet the Producer, Whiplash

Whiplash

Style: Brewery

Whiplash was founded in 2016 by Alex Lawes and Alan Wolfe, two brewing industry colleagues who wanted more room to experiment with beer. Having met while working at Rye River Brewing, they started Whiplash as a side project for one-off releases that didn’t fit neatly into the demands of a busy production brewery. The response was strong enough that both eventually left their jobs to focus on it full-time. By 2019, Whiplash had its own brewery in Ballyfermot, Dublin, and had become one of Ireland’s best-known independent craft breweries.

Hoppy beers have become a big part of the Whiplash identity, particularly hazy IPAs, pale ales and double IPAs. The brewery also has a serious interest in lagers, porters and stouts, so there’s more to the range than tropical fruit and hefty hop additions. Its approach combines modern brewing techniques with a focus on balance and drinkability, alongside a steady stream of limited releases and collaborations.

The year-round range includes Body Riddle, a pale ale, Rollover, a session IPA, and Northern Lights, a micro IPA. These provide an accessible introduction to the brewery’s style, while rotating specials give the team space to explore different hop varieties, stronger beers and darker styles. The original Scaldy Porter was among Whiplash’s first releases, a reminder that the brewery’s roots extend beyond the pale and hazy beers for which it is now widely recognised.

Whiplash has also helped build connections across the international beer scene through Fidelity Festival, which it launched in Dublin in 2019. The festival brought together breweries from Ireland and further afield, reflecting the founders’ belief that collaboration and shared ideas help keep independent brewing moving forward. The brewery also operates Fidelity, a bar in Dublin where its beers can be enjoyed alongside guest selections.

Whiplash has grown considerably since its early days as a side project, but experimentation remains central to what it does. With a permanent range covering several styles and a changing line-up of special beers, it offers plenty for drinkers who like to see what a brewery will try next. It has become an important part of Ireland’s modern craft beer scene while keeping its focus firmly on making good beer.
