Collection: Otherworld Brewing

Otherworld has carved out its own corner of the Scottish beer scene. Brewing from Midlothian, the brewery combines modern hop-forward beers with smoked lagers, fruit sours and rich imperial stouts, backed by bold artwork and a willingness to take familiar styles in unexpected directions.

Otherworld Brewing has quickly become one of the most distinctive newer breweries in the Scottish craft beer scene, producing highly hopped IPA, fruited sour beer, mixed fermentation releases and barrel-aged dark beer from its base near Edinburgh. Founded in 2022, the brewery combines modern craft beer styles with a highly creative identity centred around mythology, fantasy-inspired artwork and experimental flavour combinations.

The brewery describes its approach as “creating beers with a focus on strong flavours”, with releases spanning hazy IPA, West Coast IPA, imperial stout, smoked lager, Belgian-inspired strong ales and funk-driven sour beer. Unlike breweries focused narrowly on one style, Otherworld embraces a broad range of modern craft brewing while maintaining a consistent emphasis on intensity, creativity and drinkability.

Mixed fermentation and barrel ageing play an increasingly important role in the brewery’s identity, particularly through sour beer, whisky barrel-aged releases and funk-driven beers shaped by wild fermentation influence. Alongside heavily hopped modern pale ale and IPA, the brewery has also developed a reputation for smoked lager, imperial stout and unusual seasonal releases incorporating fruit, oak and botanical ingredients.

Visually, Otherworld stands apart through striking old-school tattoo-inspired can artwork and mythological themes that mirror the brewery’s imaginative brewing style. The brewery has rapidly gained recognition across Scotland through specialist bottle shops, collaborations and small-batch releases that appeal to both modern IPA drinkers and mixed fermentation enthusiasts.

Our Otherworld Brewing collection focuses on hazy IPA, sour beer, barrel-aged releases, smoked lager and mixed fermentation beer brewed with creativity and strong flavour at the centre. Expect tropical fruit, citrus, funk, oak, smoke, soft acidity and expressive hop character across one of Scotland’s most imaginative modern breweries.
