We're Talking Merlot!

Merlot is one of the world's most widely planted red grape varieties, loved for its soft texture, ripe fruit and easy-going character. Originally from Bordeaux, where it plays a leading role in many of the region's famous blends, it's now grown successfully across Europe, the Americas, Australia and beyond. Expect flavours of plum, black cherry and blackberry, often backed up by notes of cocoa, herbs and gentle spice, with smooth tannins that make Merlot approachable even when young.

While it's often thought of as an easy-drinking red, Merlot is capable of producing wines with real depth and complexity. It can be light and juicy, rich and velvety, or structured enough to improve with years in the cellar depending on where it's grown and how it's made.
