Five Farms

Style: Liqueur

Country: Ireland

Region: County Cork

Five Farms looked at standard Irish cream liqueur and decided it probably needed more actual Irish farm in it. Produced in County Cork, the brand leans heavily into proper dairy richness and quality whiskey rather than sugary “festive coffee creamer with alcohol” territory. Smart move honestly.

The cream comes from five family-owned farms around Cork and gets blended with triple-distilled Irish whiskey within 48 hours of collection, which explains why the texture feels so ridiculously lush compared to a lot of thinner Irish cream out there. Loads of caramel, vanilla, coffee and butterscotch notes show up straight away, but there’s enough whiskey warmth underneath to stop things becoming liquid dessert overload.

It’s also one of those bottles that works dangerously well both neat and poured into absolutely irresponsible desserts. Cheesecake, espresso martinis, hot chocolate, ice cream, probably porridge if you’ve had a rough week. The line between drink and pudding gets very blurry very quickly here.

The whole thing still feels properly Irish too. Green fields, dairy farms, whiskey and enough creamy richness to make winter seem briefly acceptable.

Very hard to stop at one glass once the bottle’s open.
