Brasserie des Voirons, Bière Vivante de Têtu 2024
Brasserie des Voirons' Bière Vivante de Têtu 2024 is a distinctive French beer crafted in Lucinges, Haute-Savoie. This "bière vivante" (living beer) is fermented and aged for eight months on the lees of Jean-Marie Berrux’s 2022 Le Petit Têtu Chardonnay, utilizing demi-muids from the domaine. This process imparts subtle richness and complexity, reminiscent of the refined wines of the Côte de Beaune .
The beer is unfiltered, unpasteurized, and free from chemical additives, allowing it to evolve gracefully over time. With an alcohol content of 6%, it is bottled in 75 cl formats and is considered a rare product, often limited to a maximum of three bottles per customer .
Brasserie des Voirons, operated by Christophe and Barbara Grellier, is known for its innovative approach to brewing, often incorporating elements from the world of natural wine. Their beers are brewed with pristine alpine water sourced from the same aquifer as Evian, contributing to their luminous and nourishing character .
