More About Electric Spirit Gin 5cl

Made in Leith by Electric Spirit Co., Achroous is a Scottish gin that sticks to the backbone of a classic London Dry while adding a few interesting twists. It's distilled in small batches using seven botanicals, with Sichuan peppercorns and fennel seed bringing a distinctive character to the familiar juniper base.

Juniper leads the way, followed by fragrant citrus, floral spice and earthy notes from the root botanicals. Fennel adds a gentle aniseed sweetness, while Sichuan peppercorns bring a bright, almost lemon-sherbet quality without much heat. The finish is dry, resinous and gently spicy, making this a great choice for a gin and tonic or a proper gin-led Martini.

Meet the Producer, Electric Spirit Co

Electric Spirit Co

Style: Distillery

Electric Spirit Co has carved out a reputation in the UK spirits scene by making gin that actually tastes like someone cared while creating it rather than simply assembling a trendy bottle and hoping nobody asks questions later. Based in Bath, the distillery focuses on small batch spirits packed with bold botanical character, strong flavour balance and just enough creativity to stay interesting without disappearing completely into gimmick territory.

The range is best known for Achroous Gin, a richly aromatic spirit inspired by old perfume-making techniques and loaded with botanicals that bring floral, herbal and spice-driven complexity into the glass. There’s a softness and depth to the spirits that makes them feel far more considered than many modern craft gins that seem determined to assault your senses with fourteen competing flavours at once.

Electric Spirit Co also leans heavily into sustainability and ethical sourcing, but thankfully it never feels preachy about it. The focus stays firmly on flavour first, with the eco-conscious side naturally woven into the way the distillery operates rather than turned into a marketing performance.

Part of the appeal here is that the spirits feel handcrafted in the proper sense of the word. Small scale production, careful recipe building and thoughtful distillation all come through clearly once you actually taste the stuff. There’s personality behind the bottles rather than generic “premium gin brand” energy.

For gin drinkers looking for something with a bit more depth and individuality, Electric Spirit Co hits a very satisfying middle ground between classic structure and modern experimentation. Elegant, expressive and refreshingly confident in its own style.
